SINGAPORE — Germany-based business solutions company SAP announced that Olam Agri, a global agri-business leader, selected RISE with SAP on Amazon Web Services (AWS). 

The initial name of SAP, which was founded in 1972, was System Analysis Program Development (Systemanalyse Programmentwicklung) and later abbreviated to SAP.

The “RISE” in “RISE with SAP” stands for “Realize, Innovate, Sustain, and Enhance.”

RISE with SAP is an AI-enabled cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) program. It streamlines business processes, reduces costs, and improves business outcomes.

“AWS” is “Amazon Web Services,” the global e-commerce giant’s cloud computing platform.

Olam Agri is an agricultural business that started in Nigeria. Nowadays, it facilitates supply chains for grains, feed, rice, cotton, wood, and other products.

It adopted RISE with SAP’s S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition because of its seamless integration with SAP Business AI.

Olam integrates into SAP applications that enhance critical business processes using AI innovations and industry-specific data.

RISE with SAP includes tools like Business Integrity Screening and the AI co-pilot Joule, which runs on AWS infrastructure.

Joule enhances information access and accelerates transactions to boost business efficiency. 

Business Integrity Screening will enable Olam Agri to identify anomalous activities quickly using flexible rule sets and predictive analyses. 

Olam Agri’s initial use for Joule includes the following:

Predictive maintenance for their critical equipment to improve overall productivity Quality control of commodities from farm to table Improving customer service.
